Rocky Point Road Trip Update December 21, 2007

Friday January 18 - Monday January 21. SDPHC, in conjunction with Buffalo Tours, is planning a bus trip from San Diego to Rocky Point, Sonora Mexico (Mainland side of the Sea of Cortez, across from San Felipe Mexico). We are going to hear the "Parrot Mafia:" Mark Mulligan, Gary Seiler, Rob Mehl, and Kelly McGuire. This will be SDPHC's first road trip to Mexico since San Felipe, 5 years are ago. All of you who attended the San Felipe trip know how much fun that trip was from "Thong Boy" to late night skinny-dipping in the hotel pool with the swim up bar. Cost is $270 per person double, $290 single, and includes the bus trip ( with $1.00 drinks on the bus), and 4 days, 3 nights at the Via Del Mar hotel . This is a great hotel downtown on the beach. All rooms have water views and a great pool, Jacuzzi, bar/lounge, etc. The cost of the bus trip does not include the cost of a ticket to the Saturday concert, which is $22 advance or $25 at the door. The Bus holds 47 people. If more than 30 go, the cost would go down from $270 to about $250 PP. Money will be collected by Buffalo tours. THEY ARE COLLECTING MONEY NOW. If you are on going on this bus trip, please make a check out for $270 per person double or $290 single, payable to Buffalo Tours. Mail it to Buffalo Tours 12557 South Frontage Rd, Yuma, Az 85367. We need at least 25 people to make this trip work. If we have less than 25 we will have to cancel the bus. Please get you money into Buffalo Tours by Friday January 4th. Some people have asked questions about whether or not you will need a passport. The answer in no. Until January 31, 2008, all you need is an government issued picture I.D. such as a state driver's license, etc. Up to date information on what identification is required to enter the country can be found at http://www.CBP.gov

Thursday December 27th Holiday Bowl and Emdzoner's party featuring John Bowe and Tradewinds.
John Bowe and SDPHC are once again supporting the YMCA by selling a block of tickets. Each ticket is $67 and includes the Endzoner's party 2:30-4:30, the Holiday Bowl, and a charity donation. This always sells out but John does have a few tickets left.

Sunday January 8, 2008. For the fourth year, 350 homeless and displaced families and teens from Father Joe's Villages and Monarch School will arrive by luxury bus to Rock Bottom in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. Rock Bottom will treat them to a post holiday celebration. Each guest will receive a warm welcome and an extraordinary dining experience. See "You Had to be There" below for details.

Please remember that this is one of our favorite adopted charities and that we do collect for them all year.

Sunday, January 8, 2008 For the fourth year, 350 homeless and displaced families and teens from Father Joe's Villages and Monarch School will arrive by luxury bus to Rock Bottom in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego for a post holiday celebration. Each guest will receive a warm welcome and an extraordinary dining experience. Seated at tables with white linen table-cloths and napkins, silver ware and china, guests will enjoy a traditional holiday meal complete with all of the trimmings. New gifts to be distributed include warm adult and children's clothing, blankets, school supplies and other essentials. Each guest will have the chance to make a long distance telephone call, enjoy a video game room and visit with our strolling magician and clown. The Miracle Event From a single event in Denver in 1996, the Miracle Events have grown in response to the tremendous need across the country. In 2007-08, in partnership with local non-profit agencies, over 10,000 homeless, displaced and disadvantaged people in elevem cities will receive an outpouring of community generosity. Effective January 31 you will need a government, state, federal, etc. issued picture ID AND some proof of citizenship. Either a passport, Birth certificate (Copy is fine), or naturalization document.
