Linda is retiring as Treasurer of the SDPHC for over 10 years. We gave her a plaque and Sharon gave a short speech thanking her. And then Linda spoke briefly about her experiences over the years.

Vice President – Gail nominated Sharon. It was seconded. No one else was nominated. She was voted in unanimously.
Treasurer – Chuck nominated Janice. It was seconded. No one else was nominated. She was voted in unanimously.
Secretary – Chuck nominated Wendy. It was seconded. No one else was nominated. She was voted in unanimously.
Members-at-Large: Chuck Butler, Gail Folsom, and Nan Clain were all nominated and seconded. No one else was nominated. All were voted in unanimously.
Incorporation UpdateIt's officially. We will be approved for a 501c 4 designation (civic organization). We will be a non-profit organization. We won't have to pay federal taxes. We hoped for 501c 3 designation (charity). But there were too many stipulations for that. It required that raise money at event. Hence working the RnR marathon didn't count. We may try to establish a 501c 3 Foundation under PHIP to get the designation. But we are still in an exploratory phase. And the woman working on our accounting for all of the tax and incorporation issues – Alicia Owens – has donated 100% of her time.
Upcoming Events:Rock Bottom Foundation –

(It commemorates an OMBAC member who was a prisoner of war in Vietnam. This was a celebration to welcome him home, coming out of war.) And this is a fundraiser for OTL. Bands are still TBD, but all local popular bands. You can buy tickets at the next SDPHC meeting and local beach bars (such as The Beach Comber). In addition, SDPHC will be doing a raft up the same day. Boats will be out there at Mariner's point to hear the music and party with us.
July – 2nd and 3rd weekends – Over The Line. Bob C is organizing the practices – every Thur at Mariner's point – starting 4:30-5. We're sponsoring 7 teams only. New people are coming out to practice. So come out frequently to participate. More details to come. Again, we'll have a compound at OTL. Members only. And we'll need volunteers to help run the compound 2 hour shifts. We'll discuss more logistics at the next meeting. Linda Olson is still coordinating teams. Sign ups are May 5th. This year, the cost is $75 per team. So if you register, then you better play.
Carlsbad 5000 Water stopWe worked this April 1. We had 10 tables and 10 volunteers. Linda Olson and Stephanie Bridger both ran it. Chuck said it worked out well and all had a good time.

Charity Pub Crawl – June 9This year's charity recipient is Challenged America. Amanda and Janice are running this. 46 people have paid. We're maxing at 70 people. We will not get another bus. We don't think we can fill it, so we will loose money to donate to the charity. We'll hit 7 bars. And then at 6pm at Paradise Bar & Grill, we'll have our happy hour finale. You can come to the finale whether or not you do the crawl.
12th Anniversary Party on Sept 21-22Camping – people are not paying for spots. If you don't pay, you don't get a reservation. Contact Janice for a spot. But we will sell out. And Sept is a popular time for camping, so if you don't get spot through us, there may not be other spots available. We also have a deal with a local RV company if you want to rent a camper. They can even set it up for you. Details are in the e-newsletter.
Again, music from 11am to 10pm, two stages of music, a silent auction and raffle. This is a child friendly event and an area for adults – the beer garden. You need to buy your armband in advance for $25. This will waive the entrance fee to Campland.
The recipient for this year's charity is the Randall Clark Fund, Bob & Sharon's son, who lost his leg in a car crash earlier this year. It will help cover medial expenses and a new prosthesis. Any extra money will go to Challenged America.
The musical line-up will be about the same as last year.
This is an open event. You don't have to be a club member attend. So please pass the word to all of your friends. We are hoping to have 800-1000 people this year. This is the only southern ca parrot head event this year. (Migration is in Vegas and Phis to the West is in Laughlin.)

Little Race for Little PeopleDetails to come, but we will participate again. Number of boats is TBD, and based partially on what we raise at the OTL compound. Also, we are looking for crew. Generally we sponsor 2-3 boats. We are the defending champions 2 years in a row. They are changing the location of the race and where onlookers view. So come out and watch and look out for cheaters.
Stand Down – event for Homeless Veterans2nd weekend of July 7/13-15. We always donate to the event. They gave us an award for all of support we've provided over the years. They can use donations all year round for clothes and toiletries. Donate at SDPHC meetings or contact Errol Samuelson. The recipients are homeless men and woman service people and their children.
